The Artist is Absent

The Artist is Absent est un jeu vidéo mémoriel à l'esthétique très minimale. Vous explorez librement une reproduction 3D de la maison de mon enfance. On y trouve des fragments du monde réel, modélisés et importés dans l’espace virtuel. Lorsqu’on s’en approche, cela déclenche des enregistrements audio qui racontent des souvenirs marquants de ma vie.

 J’ai été inspiré par les livres I Remember de Joe Brainard et Je me souviens de Georges Perec. Je suis convaincu qu’avec ce type d’œuvres autobiographiques, il est possible de s’identifier, de projeter son propre vécu.

 Avec ce jeu, je fais appel à votre curiosité. Vous pouvez explorer l’espace domestique sans chemin prédéfini, pour la durée que vous souhaitez.

The Artist is Absent is a memorial video game with a very minimal aesthetic. You freely explore a 3D reproduction of my childhood home. Fragments of the real world are modelled and imported into the virtual space. When you approach it, it triggers audio recordings recounting significant memories of my life.

 I was inspired by the books I Remember by Joe Brainard and Je me souviens by Georges Perec. I'm convinced that with this type of autobiographical work, it's possible to identify with and project one's own experience.

 With this game, I'm appealing to your curiosity. You can explore the domestic space without a predefined path, for as long as you like.
